What is the UK Global Talent visa?
It is the British route for leading professionals in fields such as technology, science, arts, and culture. It recognises your track record and talent, instead of requiring a job offer to begin.
Do I need a job offer to apply?
No. Unlike most work visas, Global Talent does not depend on an employer sponsoring you. It is based on your professional recognition, which gives you freedom to work, build a business, or change projects in the United Kingdom.
How does the endorsement work and who issues it?
The endorsement is confirmation, by an authorised UK body, that you are a recognised talent in your field. Each sector has its own endorsing body. Amorim helps identify the right route and build the evidence dossier that supports the application.
Which fields can I be endorsed in?
The main areas are digital technology, science and research, engineering, medicine, arts, culture, architecture, and fashion. In our first conversation we assess which one your track record fits most strongly.
Do I need to be a public figure or have awards to be endorsed?
No. You do not need press coverage, awards, or public recognition. The endorsement assesses your real contribution to your field, and much of the work is translating what you have already built, even behind the scenes, into evidence that meets the criteria.
What is the difference between Exceptional Talent and Exceptional Promise?
They are two doors into the same route. Exceptional Talent is for those who are already recognised leaders in their field. Exceptional Promise is for those on the rise who show clear leadership potential. We assess your track record to point to the stronger door for your moment.
How long does it take from endorsement to visa?
The journey has two official decisions, the endorsement and then the visa. As a reference, the endorsement usually comes within 4 to 8 weeks and the visa in around 3 weeks after the endorsement, official reference timelines, subject to change. You leave the first conversation with a clear view of the likely timeline for your case.
Can my family come with me?
Yes. Your spouse or partner and children can be included as dependants, with the right to live, study, and work in the United Kingdom. We plan for the whole family from the start.
Can I apply on my own, without family?
Yes. Global Talent works with you as the main applicant, and your family structure can be added later, when it fits your moment. You do not need everything defined to start.
We are a couple without children. Does it make sense to go now?
It does, and it tends to be the lightest moment to go. Without children yet, the move has fewer calendar constraints, and you can build your family already in the United Kingdom, with high quality healthcare and education.
Can I bring my parents?
Parents do not qualify as direct dependants of Global Talent, but there are separate routes to bring family together over time. We review your case to show the options, always without promising an outcome.
Does Global Talent lead to permanent residency?
Yes. The visa opens a path to permanent residency, and the time to that right varies depending on your endorsement route. We review your scenario to show the shortest path there.
Can I work, start a business, or change employers on this visa?
Yes. This is one of the route's biggest advantages. You are not tied to a single employer and can work as an employee, found your own company, or combine projects, with freedom to change over time.
How does Global Talent compare to the US EB2 NIW?
They are similar in spirit, both recognise merit without requiring a job offer, but they lead to different destinations. Global Talent leads to the United Kingdom, with Europe next door; the EB2 NIW leads to the United States. If both countries are on your radar, we help you compare which fits your moment best. One difference that tends to weigh is timing: in practice, the Global Talent journey usually resolves in months, around six, while the EB2 NIW usually takes years, two to three.
I am also considering Portugal or the EB5. How do I decide?
It makes sense to look at the whole picture. Portugal and the EB5 usually require a financial investment; Global Talent recognises your track record, with no capital required. Since Amorim works across several routes, we help you compare destination, cost, and lifestyle so you decide clearly, not in the dark.
Do I need perfect English or to already live in the UK?
No. You can apply from wherever you are, and language is never a barrier with us. Our team supports you in Portuguese and English at every stage.
What about schools for my children?
The United Kingdom has a broad network of state and private schools, with its own calendar. We plan school timing alongside the move, so the children's transition happens at the right moment.
What documents will I need?
You receive a clear list for your endorsement route, no guesswork. Once we understand your profile, we tell you exactly what to gather, in what order, and with what care, so your evidence tells a strong story.
What documents are needed for an endorsement?
It depends on the endorsing body for your field, which is exactly what we map out with you. In general, the endorsement asks for recommendation letters from recognized references in your field and a set of evidence of your track record: awards, publications, projects and market recognition, up to a limit of items. For technology, for example, the submission follows the format of the field's body. Documents in another language need certified translation. You receive the exact list for your route, with no guesswork.
What happens if the endorsement is refused?
There is a review stage, but it does not accept new evidence, it only reassesses what was already submitted. That is why we treat the first submission as the one that counts and only apply when your case is genuinely robust. If your profile is not ready yet, we tell you beforehand, with a plan to get there.
Do I need to file a tax exit when I move to the United Kingdom?
It depends on your case. There is currently no double taxation treaty between Brazil and the United Kingdom, which makes it even more important to assess the timing and form of your tax exit with a specialist. We talk it through with you to understand the implications of your situation before any step.
What if my case is more complex?
Every situation gets the same attention, whether simple or complex. That is what sets a boutique consultancy apart. The sooner we look at your scenario, the more predictable the path becomes.
How much does the Global Talent visa cost?
There are two kinds of cost. The official UK government fees, which include endorsement, visa, and the health surcharge, are paid per person and spread across the visa years, so it is not a single upfront amount. And Amorim's fees for handling your full case, which we present in the first conversation, once we understand your scenario. You leave it with the investment laid out item by item, and time to plan each step, with no surprises.
When is the best time to apply?
The best time is usually sooner than people imagine. The earlier we look at your track record, the more time we have to strengthen the evidence and organise the family, the tax side, and the children's schooling without rushing. The first conversation is exactly for mapping your ideal timing.
How does working with Amorim Global start?
It all starts with a first conversation, free and with no commitment. In it we look at your track record, point to the strongest route, and map out with you the path to your life in the United Kingdom.
